THE BOOK TRAILERS WERE FABULOUS! MOST PEOPLE CLEARLY WORKED VERY HARD AS WELL AS ENJOYED THEIR BOOKS! WELL DONE!
Long term projects will usually have a rubric and a timetable that I will send home as well as post here. If your child falls behind on a project, he/she may have to work on it on the weekends. Most projects will be stored on Google and can be accessed through your child’s school gmail account. This allows them the ability to work anywhere they have internet access be it at home or at a public library. I will do my best to not put several tests or projecurrentcts due on the same day for thosse that have waited untio the last minute!
Over the Holiday Break, I purchased a world map, US map and globe. After hanging the maps, I was truly amazed at the interest in theworld map. While waiting for the calls for the pick ups and buses, they wanted me to give them the name of a country to find on the map or the globe. Mrs. Lowney and I discussed how we could build a project around this interest.
Thus our current project “Where am I?” was born. It incorporates the five themes of geography, mapping skills, and green screen technology. Their presentation will describe the various features of a country they choose. After making their presentation, we’ll see if the class can guess what country they are in virtually. So far there has been a great deal of enthusiasm. Mrs. Lowney and I have been hesitant to set a completion date due to distance learning, vacations, and SBAC. However after discussing it, we have set the due date for the first week of May.
