Ms. Craig’s 1st Grade Class
Hi Everyone!
My name is Ms. Craig and I am Scotland’s new 1st grade teacher. I recently graduated from Sacred Heart University with a Master’s in Elementary Education. I have worked in multiple schools of various sizes and populations, but I am so excited to be here at SES. This is my first year having my own classroom, and I am thankful to work with such amazing students and staff! This year will be full of many firsts for both my students and I, but what better place than in 1st grade! On this page will be posted our specials schedule, upcoming events, updates on what our class has been learning, and some fun pictures! If you have any questions or would like to get in touch, please feel free to email me at ncraig@scotlandes.org.
Thank you!

We have been working so hard on all of our academics this month! We have learned all about bonus letters and glued sounds in phonics. In writing we have been working a lot with our five senses, both with what we experience ourselves and how to incorporate them into writing! During math our class has been focusing on story problems that use both addition and subtraction…I know, so cool! We have learned some new fun reading games during our reading rotations, and are slowly becoming better readers! This month we are learning about social studies every Friday, and we have been talking about long ago vs. today. I can not wait to see what fun November brings!
1st grade discovered that we have a monster who lurks in our classroom when we are not around! He came to our room and left a mess, so we made a trap to try and catch him! It did not work as well as we had hoped…better luck next time!
