One of my favorite quotes: “There are places in the heart you don’t even know exist until you love a child.” (Ann Lamott)
I moved to Connecticut in October of 2012 from New Hampshire where I was a middle school principal for the past 8 years. I have always been in education–first as a teacher and then as a school administrator. I have taught at the elementary, middle and high school levels during my teaching career and my administrative experience has been at the middle level. I taught in Vermont for one year and the rest of my educational career has been in New Hampshire.
My husband and I have four children. Our oldest daughter, Jen and her husband, live in Hartford with their two children. Theo is five and and his little sister, Fay is three years old. Our middle daughter, Shelley, lives in Boston and our son, Jim and his wife, live in southern New Hampshire with their sons, Nicholas, three years old, and Connor, 17 months old. My youngest daughter, Melissa and her husband live in Deep River, CT.
As I begin my seventh year at Scotland Elementary School, I know that my move to Connecticut was a good one. Our school is a terrific place to work! Our children provide me with a true joy of learning and a love of elementary smiles each and every day. My goal as the principal of Scotland Elementary School is to work hard making our school a place where every child wants to come EVERY day of the year!
